45. Compliance with Environmental Laws and Regulations
We act in compliance with environment protection laws and regulations and the internal rules of the particular company and the aG. We responsibly inspect facilities and conduct appropriate environmental protection reviews, making honest and accurate records and, as necessary, reporting the results in a prompt manner. In the unlikely event of a situation that could have a serious impact on the environment, we promptly investigate the cause, minimize the effects, and take steps to prevent a reoccurrence. We also ensure appropriate disclosure of information related to the incident both inside and outside the company.

47. Consideration of the Environment in Business Activities
In the course of our daily business operations, we endeavor at each office to improve the environment through energy efficiency, conservation of resources, and recycling. Furthermore, at every stage of product development or business improvement, from selecting a site location for production facilities to all stages in the product life cycle—procurement, production, distribution, sale, use, disposal and recycling—we give due consideration to environmental issues by taking steps to prevent global warming, by making efficient use of resources by reducing the quantity of inputs and of waste, and by managing chemical substances.
48. Information Disclosure for Environmental Protection
We make public the know-how we acquire as a result of our efforts, as part of our business activities, etc., to reduce the burden on the environment and to reduce risk to the environment, and we also publish status reports and results. In these ways we help to protect and improve the environment.
