Azbil Joins the “IP Open Access Declaration Against COVID-19"

TOKYO, Oct. 8, 2020: We would like to express our deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones as a result of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). We would also like to extend our sympathies to all those who have suffered from this disease and to those who today find themselves in difficulty due to the pandemic. We would also like to express our utmost respect and deep gratitude to all members of the medical profession and others working on the frontlines in the struggle to control this pandemic.

Azbil Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange Code: 6845) announced it has joined the “IP Open Access Declaration Against COVID-19”^* and will participate in upholding the points contained therein.

Azbil declared that for a determined period of time, it will not assert any patent, utility model, design or copyright (collectively referred to as “intellectual property rights”) against any individual or other entity with respect to the activities whose sole purpose is stopping the spread of COVID-19. Entities will be able to pursue the fastest and best methods to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 without having to spend time investigating or negotiating licenses regarding Azbil’s intellectual properties.
