Azbil’s Whistleblowing System Certified by Japan’s Consumer Affairs Agency

TOKYO, Dec. 18, 2020: Azbil Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange code: 6845) announced that its whistleblowing system was registered under the Japan Consumer Affairs Agency’s Whistleblower Compliance Management System (based on self-declaration of conformity)*1 on November 27.
Azbil has set up and operates its “CSR Hotline” as an employee consultation and reporting system that accepts questions, consultation and other such communication from all employees, company executives, business partners, and the general public. Information about the hotline has been spread internally in the Company through training such as CSR awareness, compliance education, and HR development, as well as through setting up a dedicated website and informing people of it, publicizing how much the hotline is used, and other initiatives. In addition to being effective in preventing situations that could lead to scandals, wrong-doing, and harassment, the hotline also provides consultation for any and all private or personal matters, which helps solve the troubles of consultation seekers and supports health and well-being management.
The azbil Group made its “azbil Group Health and Well-being Declaration” in July 2019. To promote a healthy and lively workforce, the azbil Group takes a comprehensive approach called “health and well-being management,” encouraging new ways of working that improve the work environment by reducing total working hours and preventing harassment, and promoting diversity in order to respect each other’s individuality and make the best use of his or her characteristics. Established by Japan’s Consumer Affairs Agency, this system allows corporations to evaluate their own whistleblowing system and apply for certification if it meets the standards based on the agency’s guidelines for the public sector to maintain and operate the Whistle Blowing Compliance Management System based on the Whistle-Blower Protection Act (established December 9, 2016). Upon confirming the application, the agency registers certification and grants permission to use the logo.
