TOKYO, Sep. 28, 2021: Azbil Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange code: 6845) announced that it has received two New Product Development Awards for fiscal year 2021 from the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers (SICE).
SICE is a core academic society in the fields of measurement, control, and systems. New Product Development Award
For the Online Anomaly Monitoring System (for Batch Processes)
Azbil’s online anomaly monitoring system uses AI to learn about normal operating behavior of a plant from the long-term process data (big data) stored there and detects unusually small deviations from normal operations at an early predictive stage. This helps prevent unexpected equipment outages and production problems, thus contributing to achieving stable production and condition-based maintenance. Previous iterations of the system were used in continuous processes, such as those found in oil refineries and petrochemical plants but this version was developed to also work with high-mix low-volume production batch processes, which make up the bulk of the manufacturing industry, including pharmaceutical, food, and manufacturing and assembly.
For the Network Instrumentation Module Smart Device Gateway Model NX-SVG
This product is an IoT gateway* that enables communication between devices via Ethernet or RS-485 ports regardless of manufacturer and without the need to create communication programs. To implement IoT at a production site, a communication program traditionally had to be developed for each connected device, which created issues with ensuring the allocation of time and personnel. To overcome this issue, this product was developed with the concept of serving as a multi-vendor IoT gateway that can greatly reduce development time and work.
Guided by the azbil Group philosophy of “human-centered automation,” Azbil aims to contribute “in series” to the achievement of a sustainable society, to grow sustainably, and to contribute to the solution of problems faced by society by developing products and services that provide safety, comfort, and fulfillment.
* This is a communication gateway that allows the interchange of information between various kinds of control devices without programming, enabling smarter development work.
• Ethernet is a trademark of FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corp.
* Posted information is accurate as of the date of announcement.
