- Making Contributions that Lead “In Series” to a Sustainable Society -

TOKYO, May 10, 2024: Azbil Corporation (Tokyo Stock Exchange code 6845) has announced a new quantitative indicator related to the creation and provision of eco-friendly products and services, an objective of the azbil Group’s Environment and Energy SDG. This new indicator is the number of skilled professionals*1 available to support sustainable services*2 provided by the azbil Group; our target is to increase this to a total of 1,800*3—triple the number in FY2021.

azbil SDGs target

In advancing sustainability management, aimed at realizing a sustainable society, the azbil Group has identified materiality as ten material issues across five areas to be tackled over the long term. For this purpose, we have established four Essential Goals of the azbil Group for SDGs; Environment and Energy is one of these. Through our initiatives to achieve the SDGs, we aim to realize value creation that only the azbil Group can offer, not only in business but also in human resource development and growth, and to contribute “in series” to a sustainable society. And to make steady progress with these initiatives, we have established specific indicators for each goal; these are reviewed every year, and new ones added as required.

The focus of this new indicator (skilled professionals) is developing human resources to support the field engineering services that contribute to the realization of a sustainable society. It thus helps us to achieve, through our automation technologies, productivity improvements and stable operations at customers’ sites. We will also strive to provide environmentally friendly products and services in all three of the azbil Group’s environmental priority areas (decarbonization, resource recycling, and biodiversity conservation)

Essential Goal: Environment and Energy

Preserving the Earth’s environment and solving energy-related problems through cooperative creation
